Just a few short years ago, when the global ICT skills shortage was at its height, women were seen as a key part of the solution to the critical under-supply of ICT professionals. With women accounting for less than a quarter of those employed in ICT, it was hoped that programs to encourage more women into the sector would help to address the gender imbalance while increasing the pool of available skills.
